Opening Doors PTA
Kids with Special Needs Inspire a Special Love
Opening Doors is a Special Education PTA dedicated to supporting students with exceptional needs and learning differences. We provide education workshops, enrichment programs, ability awareness events, and social activities for the special needs community . Our mini grant program funds professional development in special education
Thank you for your generous support this past school year! Your gift makes a real difference in the lives of families with special needs!
We are facing a critical moment in our history. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on education, leading to near-total closures of schools nationwide.
Safely reopening our public schools in the fall will be a difficult balancing act. Yet until schools do reopen, the most vulnerable children will continue to be hardest hit — losing consistent access to valuable learning time, meals, and vital social-emotional support.
No matter how far our technology has come, how many laptops we can deliver to students, how much training we give our teachers, we will never be able to equitably meet the needs of all our students from afar. The achievement gap will inevitably widen.
The 2021 school year will be unlike any other.
Now more than ever, our kids depend on us to advocate for them. Opening Doors PTA will continue its commitment to advocate for education equity for all kids, including those with special needs and learning differences.
We invite you to partner with us!
